Teena Choudhry, the woman seen confronting a minister in a viral video during a traffic jam, has released a detailed account, saying she was ignored for over an hour before the situation escalated.

“Hello, I’m sure a lot of you have seen a lady That girl is me. My name is Tina Chaudhary and I’m sending you this message to clarify a few things,” she said.

She also addressed concerns about her safety. “I’ve received so many messages regarding my safety. I want to let you know that I’m fine and I appreciate the concern.”

Recounting April 21, she said she had gone to pick up her daughter after a music class. “That day, I left my daughter for her music class at 4 o’clock. I was meant to pick her up at 4.45.”

She added that her vehicle got stuck near Mahindra Taaz. “When I took a left turn we got stuck in a jam. I was in my car for 25 minutes. When the traffic didn’t move, I got out to find out what the problem was.”

According to her, two buses were blocking the way. “They were parked. They didn’t move.”

‘NO REACTION, NO RESPONSE’

Choudhry said she approached multiple police personnel but received no help. “For the next one and a half hours, I went to every single police officer I received no reaction, no response. Nobody heard me.”

Explaining a key moment from the video, she said, “I threw that bottle on the ground to attract the attention of the police.”

FAMILY BACKGROUND AND STRONG WORDS

She also spoke about her family’s military background. “My grandfather served in the Indian Army. My father served in the Indian Army. He fought two wars for this country. There are eight people in my family who served.”

She added, “When you wear a uniform, you are in public service. It does not give you the right to be disrespectful or to be intimidating.”

INTERACTION WITH MINISTER

Referring to her exchange with Maharashtra minister Girish Mahajan, she said it came after a long wait. “By then the time was 6.15. I had no idea when I would be able to reach my child.”

She added, “Mr Mahajan was actually the only person in that rally who at least tried to hear what I was saying. On his instructions, the two buses were moved and we were able to join the main road.”

MESSAGE AFTER VIRAL MOMENT

Choudhry also urged people not to turn the incident into a political attack. “Please do not use my shoulder to take aim all political parties are guilty of the exact same offence, utter disregard and absolute apathy for the general public.”

She questioned calls for her to represent others. “Why do I need to be your voice? You have a voice.”

Closing her message, she thanked people for their support. “I have read all your messages so much love, so much support and for that, I will always be thankful.”
