A birthday celebration in the middle of a busy road in Delhi has triggered outrage online after a viral video showed a group of young men blocking traffic to mark the occasion.
The clip, widely shared on X, captures several individuals standing on top of vehicles, filming and celebrating while occupying a significant portion of the road. The disruption allegedly brought traffic to a halt, raising concerns about safety and misuse of public space.
The video was posted by a user named Harshvardhan Hooda, who tagged authorities, including Delhi Police and traffic officials, questioning how such behaviour could go unchecked. “Viral video: wasn’t aware that one can block public roads for birthday celebrations and cause inconvenience to others,” he wrote, also pointing out what appeared to be a “Police strobe light on top of Thar.”

According to the post, the footage was originally uploaded on Instagram by an account named Honey Khatri. The visuals show people climbing onto cars and recording videos, seemingly turning a public road into a private celebration space.
The clip quickly gained traction, drawing criticism from users who flagged the risk posed to commuters and pedestrians. Many questioned the lack of immediate enforcement and called for stricter action against such acts.
Responding to the viral post, the Delhi Traffic Police acknowledged the issue in the comments section. “Thank you, kindly mention date and time,” the official handle replied, indicating that further details were needed to proceed with action.
The incident has once again highlighted concerns around public behaviour and accountability, especially in crowded urban areas where such disruptions can have wider consequences.
