A fire broke out in a residential building in Delhi’s Vivek Vihar area during the early hours, resulting in the deaths of nine people. The blaze, which started around 3:00 am, is suspected to have been caused by an air conditioner blast on the second floor. The fire spread to the upper floors, trapping several residents. Fourteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot to conduct rescue and relief operations. Firefighters faced initial challenges due to a net covering the first floor, but managed to rescue over a dozen people from the building. Some victims were found trapped near the locked terrace gates, while others were discovered on their beds. Cooling and combing operations are currently underway at the site. While the police have not officially reported any injuries, an eyewitness stated that one person was injured. Authorities continue to investigate the incident as the rescue operations conclude.
