Actor Celina Jaitly has shared an emotional video of herself visiting and cleaning the grave of her late son Shamsher amid divorce proceedings with her Austrian husband Peter Haag. In the social media clip, the actor is seen breaking down at the grave. In her long caption she mentioned she “will not give up.”
In the long note accompanying the video, Celina revealed that the past few weeks had been the most difficult of her life and linked the post to her ongoing divorce hearing in Austria. She also alleged that she was being denied access to her children despite court orders and a joint custody arrangement.
Celina Jaitly opens up on abusive relationship
The actor wrote, “I had no option but to share this devastating video to show the world my trauma as a mother. The last few weeks were the most difficult of my life. I was in Austria for my divorce hearing (sic).”
She then accused her estranged husband of not allowing her to meet her children and added, “Despite an undertaking before an Austrian judge, my children who were removed to an undisclosed location were not brought back to the marital residence. The only child I got to meet was my son Shamsher, who passed away some time back. This is the heartbreaking story of a mother who has done everything for her children from the day they were born (sic).”
Celina also alleged that she had given up her life and work to support her husband’s career, but later realised that she was being “abused.”
“I left my country, my parents, my work, & moved from India to Dubai, Singapore, Austria, back to Dubai, Austria AGAIN all to support my husband’s career. I single-handedly raised my children while standing firmly behind his ambitions, his relocations, his dreams, & the life we built together. For my dedication to marriage & children, I watched my assets being taken away, piece by piece beared abuse (sic),” she went on.
Celina Jaitly alleges denial of access to kids despite court orders
Celina further claimed that although she wanted an “amicable” divorce, she was not being allowed to communicate with her children. “Despite joint custody & a subsisting order of the Austrian Family Court, I am presently DENIED ANY COMMUNICATION with my 3 children & I am heartbroken (sic),” she added.
She further said that her communication with her children has been consistently disrupted through restricted access and exposure to biased media reports. This interference, she claimed, includes efforts to manipulate and intimidate the children into speaking against her despite her lifelong dedication to their well-being. The actor emphasised that she has prioritised her role as a mother above all else, even relocating internationally multiple times to accommodate their father’s professional demands.
In an earlier Instagram post, Celina opened up about her 15-year marriage to Peter Haag, describing a prolonged period of emotional and reported physical hardship. In November 2025, Jaitly filed for divorce at an Andheri court in Mumbai, citing domestic violence and abuse. These revelations came after years of public appearances and social media posts that portrayed a harmonious family life.
Celina and Peter married in 2010 and welcomed twin boys in March 2012. In 2017, Celina gave birth to a second set of twin boys, one of whom died due to a hypoplastic heart condition.
Celina won the Miss India pageant in 2001. She made her acting debut opposite actor Fardeen Khan in the 2003 film Jansheen.
