mumbai man walks into hospital with machete stuck in head,

A shocking video from Mumbai showing a man standing inside a hospital with a large machete lodged in his head while talking on the phone has gone viral on social media, triggering outrage and allegations of medical negligence online.

However, according to the Mumbai Police, the viral clip was linked to a brutal assault case that took place in the PMGP Colony area of Mankhurd following an alleged personal rivalry.

The injured man has been identified as Rohit Nagnath Pawar, who was attacked late at night on May 1 at around 11:45 pm.

According to police officials, Rohit allegedly had an ongoing dispute with the attackers. During the confrontation, he was surrounded and assaulted with sharp weapons in what authorities described as an extremely violent attack.

The assault was allegedly so severe that one of the sharp weapons ended up deeply lodged in Rohit’s skull.

The now-viral video, filmed after the attack, showed Rohit standing inside a hospital with the weapon visibly protruding from his head while holding a phone to his ear. The shocking visuals quickly spread across social media platforms, with several users questioning why immediate medical assistance did not appear visible in the clip and accusing the hospital staff of negligence.

Police, however, stated that the matter was primarily a criminal assault case and confirmed that action had already been initiated against those involved.

The Mankhurd Police registered a case immediately after the incident was reported and launched an investigation into the attack.

During the probe, police reportedly identified and detained three minors allegedly involved in the assault on May 2. Officials said the accused juveniles have since been sent to the Dongri remand home.

Meanwhile, Rohit Pawar was admitted to Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital (Sion Hospital), where doctors carried out a difficult procedure to remove the weapon lodged in his head.

According to hospital authorities, Rohit’s condition is currently stable, although he remains under close medical observation.

Police are now continuing their investigation to determine whether additional individuals were involved in planning or carrying out the attack.

The horrifying visuals sparked intense reactions online, with several social media users expressing disbelief that the victim remained conscious despite the severity of the injury.

Others demanded clarity regarding the circumstances shown in the viral clip, especially the apparent delay in visible treatment.

Several users also voiced concern over rising incidents involving violent assaults among youngsters, while many called the attack “inhuman” and praised doctors for successfully saving the victim despite the life-threatening injury.
