Actor Trisha Krishnan was among the prominent guests at C Joseph Vijay’s swearing-in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Sunday. While the ceremony marked a major political milestone, a brief moment featuring Trisha has since caught attention online, with the actor seen getting emotional during Vijay’s first address.
In a video shared by Polimer News, Trisha looks on teary-eyed as Vijay delivered his first speech as Chief Minister. She continued to smile even as her eyes welled up, a moment that quickly resonated with fans online.

Earlier, as she arrived at the venue in a blue saree, Trisha was seen interacting briefly with the media. When told it was a “big day for Tamil Nadu”, she responded with a smile, saying, “Yes, thank you. Looking forward.” She was accompanied by her mother, Uma Krishnan, and the two did not take further questions.

In his inaugural speech, Vijay thanked the people of Tamil Nadu and spoke about what he described as a new phase of governance.
“Come, let all of us together give Tamil Nadu a fresh new government. This is a new beginning, the start of a new era of secular, social justice,” he said.
He also stressed transparency and measured expectations. “I am not some divine messenger or prophet. I am just an ordinary human being living a normal life. I will never deceive you with false promises. I will only promise what is possible,” he added.

Trisha and Vijay have worked together in several films over the years, including Ghilli (2004), Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006) and Kuruvi (2008). They reunited in Leo (2023), directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, where they played a married couple. Trisha also appeared in the special number “Matta” in Vijay’s 2024 release, The GOAT.
