Celebrations erupted in Asansol after the reopening of the Bastin Bazar Durga Temple following the BJP’s victory in West Bengal.
Locals said the temple had remained largely inaccessible for years, with worship mostly limited to major festivals. Soon after the gates reopened, devotees gathered inside with prayers, chants and emotional scenes.
The reopening came after the BJP won all nine Assembly seats in Paschim Bardhaman district.
