Director Christopher Nolan has praised The Devil Wears Prada 2, the sequel to the 2006 film, after it was released in theatres worldwide on May 1. He shared his review for the David Frankel directorial, which also features Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, who worked with him earlier in The Dark Knight Rises and Oppenheimer, respectively.

In an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Nolan was asked if he had watched The Devil Wears Prada 2 while he was speaking about working with Anne Hathaway again. While reviewing the film, the Oscar-winning filmmaker said, “I watched it last night. It was fabulous, with Emily Blunt as well. It was terrific.”

Nolan and Hathaway have once again collaborated on The Odyssey based on Homer’s epic. Blunt, portrayed Katherine Oppenheimer opposite actor Cillian Murphy, who played the titular role in Oppenheimer.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 reunites the original film’s lead cast with writer Aline Brosh McKenna. Along with the returning stars including Meryl Streep, new actors in the cast include Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux and Lucy Liu.

Apart from Stanley Tucci, fans will also see some other familiar faces from the first film such as Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman.

Nolan’s Odyssey features Matt Damon as Odysseus, Tom Holland as Telemachus and Hathaway as Penelope. Nolan’s last film, Oppenheimer, was released on July 21, 2023, and he recently told the Associated Press that while The Odyssey is still “an epic film,” its run time will be shorter than his three-hour biopic, adding that adapting such a well-known story comes with a “massive amount of pressure.”

The upcoming film has assembled a large ensemble cast, with Pattinson joined by Zendaya, Mia Goth, Jon Bernthal, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Elliot Page and Benny Safdie.

The Odyssey is set for a major box office face-off with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, backed by Disney and Sony Pictures, releasing on July 17.
