Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season is slowly turning into a collection of dismissals nobody really sees coming. The Kolkata Knight Riders batter once again found himself walking back in bizarre fashion during KKR’s chase against Delhi Capitals on Thursday night.
And this time, even Raghuvanshi himself could only laugh.
Chasing 143 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, KKR had started brightly with Finn Allen and skipper Ajinkya Rahane finding early boundaries. But within a few deliveries, the innings suddenly went from smooth to chaotic.

First came Rahane’s unlucky run-out.
Mitchell Starc fired in a 142.2 kph yorker as Allen tried to shovel the ball away. The delivery ricocheted off Starc’s left hand in his follow-through and crashed into the stumps at the non-striker’s end, catching Rahane outside his crease after backing up too far.
And then came Raghuvanshi’s moment of absolute bad luck.
Bowling around middle stump, Axar Patel had Raghuvanshi attempting a sweep shot. The ball brushed the batter’s glove, ballooned onto his shoulder, dropped onto his shoe and then somehow rolled back onto the stumps.
Raghuvanshi never even tracked where the ball had gone.
He only turned around after seeing the bails come off and immediately burst into laughter at what had just happened.
Honestly, there was not much else he could do.

This is not the first time Raghuvanshi has ended up at the centre of an unusual dismissal this season.
Earlier in IPL 2026 against Lucknow Super Giants, the KKR batter became only the fourth player in IPL history to be dismissed for obstructing the field.
That incident created major controversy.
While trying to get back into his crease, Raghuvanshi was ruled to have deliberately changed his running path and blocked a throw. The on-field decision sparked confusion inside the KKR camp, but the MCC later backed the ruling, stating it qualified as a “wilful act” under Law 37.1.1.
The frustration of that moment also cost Raghuvanshi later.
Following the dismissal, he was fined 20 percent of his match fee after slamming his bat into the boundary cushions while walking back.
Thursday’s dismissal against DC, though, carried none of that controversy.
Just pure bad luck.
