Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has opened up about the lack of camaraderie in the film industry, using Dhurandhar as an example. The director revealed that he was so impressed after watching Dhurandhar that he personally tracked down the filmmaker’s number to congratulate him and even praised the film publicly. Bhandarkar said he believes filmmakers should celebrate each other’s work more often instead of hesitating to offer praise. Recalling conversations with industry peers who questioned why he would tweet about Dhurandhar, he said such attitudes reflect the absence of unity within Bollywood. “If I like a film, I watch it multiple times in theatres,” Bhandarkar added, emphasizing his admiration for good cinema regardless of who makes it.
