Now, one Indian content creator has done exactly that, travelling thousands of kilometres to visit what he says is the real-life inspiration behind one of childhood’s most beloved cartoon settings.
Sarthak Sachdeva, an Indian content creator, shared the video on his Instagram page, documenting his trip to Japan to visit what appeared to be the real-life version of Nobita Nobi’s house from Doraemon.
In the clip, Sachdeva opened the video by panning the camera toward himself as he excitedly told viewers, “I travelled 6000 kilometres from India to Japan to see this house.” The video then transitioned to shots of a quiet residential neighbourhood as he revealed the house he claimed closely resembled Nobita and Doraemon’s iconic home from the cartoon.
Walking around the area, he pointed out familiar-looking details that longtime fans of the show would instantly recognise. Gesturing toward a nearby road, he explained that viewers had seen Nobita walk through “this exact road” countless times in the animated series while heading to school or making his way to the playground.
